Friday, September 8, 2017 by Brian Glosh | Full Boys
Dear Parents,
Thank you for everyone's attention this morning with the Opening Ceremony.Everything went very smoothly even with heavy traffic and horrible parking.
This Sunday, September 10th is our first full Sunday with the Boys choir. They will sing both the 11:15 AM Eucharist and the 4:00 PM Evensong.I will also be hosting the annual Boys Parent Meeting beginning at 10:00 am (same time as morning rehearsal). We will begin just outside Bethlehem Chapel with a quick Cathedral tour and end up in the Cathedral Library for more information specific to the Boys choir.Just a few quick reminders about Sunday:
1.Please wear the Blazer Uniform every Sunday. This must include black socks and shoes!
2.Morning rehearsal begins at 10:00 am - Good shepherd access begins at 9:45 AM
3.Eucharist begins at 11:15 am usually ends around 12:30 PM
4.Lunch is not provided by the Cathedral.Students are released to parents between 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
5.Afternoon rehearsal begins at 2:45 PM - Good shepherd access begins at 2:30 PM
6.Evensong begins at 4:00 PM and usually ends around 5:00/5:15 PM
Full Sundays are inherently long days that require a lot of focus and energy to be successful. Therefore, having the proper sleep the night before becomes extremely important. It will take some time for the boys to get used to this schedule so anything you can do at home to help is appreciated. As always, you are invited to attend any and all services!
Finally, our first school day rehearsal is Friday, September 8th.Your son may be asking how this fits into their day so I have attached a daily schedule that the school also receives that defines what the daily schedule looks like and the daily procedures.I attend all lunches at St. Albans on B,E, and G days to meet the boys immediately after lunch and escort them to and from the Cathedral.I can also make announcements that time for the choristers and the school.Important to remember that on days of chorister rehearsals, the boys will be walking outside and therefore will need to wear appropriate clothing!I will try to send reminders on extreme weather days.
Thank you for your tremendous amount of help and support to begin the school year!
